Love has the ability to transend time and find its self again. Apricot explores the idea this idea of love by telling the unlikely story about a blind date turning into a reuniting between two childhood lovers. Apricot was Written and directed by Ben Briand, an Australian writer director. This film has been around for the last five years and made its way through the short film circuit. The first time I saw this short film was about 4 or 5 years ago on vimeo as one of the editor choices. At the time the idea of love was very fascinating to me and the notion that a childhood love can keep two people connected on another level despite the loss of memory. On a deeper level this film explores the idea of who someone is in relation to memory. Apricot is phenomenal short film and one that has painted my idea of short films over the past 5ish years.
